Genesis 11:4; Psalms 23 & 91; Matthew 6:5-13 & Luke 11:1-4; John 17 & MORE!
Gen 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
Source: https://bible.knowing-jesus.com/phrases/Let-Us/type/nasb Here's a double whammy "LET US," but it's coming from the flesh and not The SPIRIT. I would prefer a double portion blessing from GOD and go forward in obedience, but that's not the case in this portion of HOLY Script. Sometimes when 'they say,' instead of standing on The Solid Rock Of GOD's WORD and what HE says, we're at a crossroads, needing Spiritual discernment and having to rightfully divide The WORD Of TRUTH! Building The Kingdom is more important than building a worldly tower within a city, when GOD had told them to reach the ends of the earth, but the fallen nature of humankind was wanting to just hunker down and settle in where they were, Babylon. Man made religion is always about finding a way to reach heaven, but the gospel is about GOD so LOVING the WORLD, that HE came down to reconcile us unto HIMSELF and when we're born-again, we now have this ministry of reconciliation too! Two times in this verse there's a "LET US" saying, but neither of them are encouraging others to enter into the Perfect Will Of The FATHER, uniting ourselves, as ONE, In HIS Kingdom Purpose. They were working to make a name for themselves, instead of glorifying The NAME Of GOD. In fear of being scattered abroad, being disobedient to GOD's WORD, HE scattered them in HIS judgement. It's far better to Trust & Obey, so that HIS Face SHINES upon us, rather than be cast into outer darkness! PRAY for Togo, where about 42% of Togolese are Christians.
